Computer shipments halt decline in Japan
Article Abstract:
Shipments of computers and peripherals in Japan between Jul and Sep 1998 rose 9% to 1.797 million units. Japanese computer makers hope that the increase in shipments is the start of turnaround of a negative trend, which begun five quarters ago. Analysts say that the increase in the demand for computers was stimulated by the release of Windows98 at the end of Jul 1998.
