Hitachi Denshi fine-tunes cameras for high-definition purposes
Article Abstract:
Hitachi Denshi will display new digital broadcasting cameras and HDTV- ready studio-to-transmitter link at the NAB '99 annual trade show. The new digital cameras are improved models of its SK-3000 and Z-3000 series. The SK-3000 incorporates a unique one-chip digital signal processor and a newly-developed 2.2-million-pixel CCD. The Z-3000 is offered in the 4:3 format and uses a CCD with 640,000 pixels. On the other hand, studio-to- transmitter link features the compactness and superior performance of radio frequency systems.

Shifts to digital systems offer jumping-off point for VCRs
Article Abstract:
VCRs have become a standard appliance in households throughout the world. Closely linked to the color TV, its market position is now considered remarkable because at first, its market acceptance was very low. VCR sales declined in the final years of the 1990s due to market saturation in Europe and US and the economic slowdown in Asia and Latin America. VCR makers should study closely developments in digital formats because they could spur the further growth of the VCR industry.

Trends in CCTV cameras point to growing user sophistication

Camera manufacturers have developed new camera technologies to meet the changing and diverse demands of users. They have produced smaller CCTV cameras with improved circuit designs and lower power consumption to turn these products from discrete equipment to full-scale systems.
