JVC expands production in China, eyes 15% of global market

Victor Company of Japan Ltd (JVC) intends to manufacture 1.3 million DVD players in FY 2000 and 3.9 million units for FY 2001. The Japanese electronics manufacturer also plans to increase sales in Asia, Europe and China, with the view of capturing 15% of the global market for DVD players. The company says the market for DVD players in Japan, Europe and the US will double in size by FY 2000. For instance, the North American DVD market will rise from nine million to 14 million units for the year.

Tamon extends its audio skills to widening base of OEM customers
Article Abstract:
Audio equipment firm Tamon International Inc specializes in developing speakers for Hi-Fi stereo systems, car audio systems and karaoke systems. It also provides speakers to other makers on an OEM basis. Tamon Managing Director Hideaki Beniya said their expertise is in sound creation and sound production although not in a large scale. Aside from Hi-Fi stereo systems and karaoke systems, Tamon also produces subwoofers which contain amplifiers.
