Article Abstract:

Valeo has disclosed the electronic architecture of Themis (Thermal Management Intelligent System), an electronic architecture dedicated to control and regulate the cooling system of a car's engine. The new system would allow to save 3-6% in fuel, the French car parts manufacturer says. The system is based on the use of an electric pump driven by the engine control calculation unit. The unit supports all the system's resources including data acquisition and treatment. Themis also saves space as the conventional water pump and ventilator are not required any more.

In the first four months of 1998, 16/9 TV sets reported a 40% rise in sales as a result of the '98 Football World Cup in France, compared to the first quarter of 1997. The same event impacted the sales of VCRs and other TV sets which went up by 21.6% and 20.3% respectively, during the first four months of 1998. *
