Makers predict 9.6% rise in semiconductors this year
Article Abstract:
A survey of semiconductor manufacturers predicts that production by 11 top companies will increase by 9.6% to 5.297 billion yen. Profits are expected to rise as the demand for logic LSIs for mobile phones, microcontrollers, computers, consumer electronics and peripherals grows. Demand is expected to continue soaring for semiconductors serving in digital consumer electronics sets such as DVD players and in mobile phones as well as for semiconductors that work in Internet-use network and communications systems.
