Matsushita sees ringing prospects in microphones

Japanese manufacturer Matsushita Communications Industrial Co Ltd aims to repeat, in FY 1999, the double-digit growth that it achieved in the electret condenser microphone (ECM) market in FY 1997 and FY 1998. Increasing global production of mobile telephones has solidified the demand for ECMs. Matsushita Communications Industrial already commands more than 50% of the international market for ECMs and intends to expand production while reducing the sizes and prices if its ECM products.

Aoi's compact electret condenser mikes offer sensitivitty
Article Abstract:
Aoi Electronics Co Ltd has introduced two models of its long-life compact eletrode-format electret condenser microphone unit. The AM-300A features a sensitivity range of -40 to -46dB, a maximum impedance of 2.2k and an operating voltage of 2V, while AM-300C has a sensitivity of -51dB, a maximum impedance of 2.2k and on operating voltage of 3V. Aoi said that the products are designed for use in portable telephones, personal computer peripherals and TVs.
