OEMs move slowly to mobile multimedia

Article Abstract:

Auto electronics makers have launched their latest lines of mobile navigation and entertainment systems. Visteon has launched its rear-seat entertainment system, which was developed in partnership with Nintendo. Visteon has also introduced its voice activation technology used to control a number of in-car functions such as audio system, climate control system and cellular phones. Clifford Electronics is offering its remote control security system for automobiles.

CE retailers get report cards

Article Abstract:

HOLT DualGrade statistics for 34 consumer electronics retailers show that practically all retailers are profitable. However, stock market expectations are very low for almost one in three of the retailers evaluated. The retailers were divided into five categories, namely, biggest, large, mid-size, smaller and emerging retailers. BB grades were given to Wal-Mart, Best Buy and Tandy which drive performance with high asset turns of more than 2.5.
