HDTV set to mature in 1999
Article Abstract:
Most retailers and manufacturers predicted that DTV and HDTV would reach widespread market acceptance by Nov 1999. DTV products showcased at the International Consumer Electronics Show held in Las Vegas, NV, in Jan 1999, included Panasonic's new CT-34WDM60 34-in widescreen monitor and Sharp's 60-in projection TV. The show also included the DTV Supersession, in which retailers and manufacturers agreed that the answer to commercial acceptance is by educating retailers and consumers to get rid of confusion about the product.
