The US is expected to be the first nation to take the initial step into digital television broadcasting. The move, which has been studied by the industry for the past decade, is expected to precipitate a worldwide move into the new technology. The final decision concerning the format of the first digital television broadcast is of vital concern to electronic, broadcasting and advertising companies both in the US and around the world.
