Pioneer supplies range of home theater systems from full fledged to simplified virtual surround systems

Pioneer Electronics Corp offers a line of fully fledged home theater systems built around a DVD player or an AV receiver. The HTP105, HTP205 and HTP305 come either with a Dolby Digital- or DTS-compatible AV receivers. The company later plans to introduce a THX-compatible model. In addition to the fully fledged line, the company also offers a home theater package system that allows the assembly of a simple home theater system consisting of an ordinary TV set, a subwoofer and special Surround unit.

As Japanese make global plans, Koreans woo Japanese buyers

The transition of audio/video equipment to the digital format has opened the Japanese market to foreign competition. While the Japanese manufacturers have been busy expanding their market to other countries, foreign makers have began positioning themselves to enter the Japan. This trend was evident during Japan's Electronic Show, held in Oct 1999, when a number of Korean and Chinese manufacturers displayed their MP3 semi- conductor audio products.
