Projector makers seek new uses to sustain demand
Article Abstract:
The market for data projectors is characterized by smooth growth. In Japan, demand has been bolstered by projector purchases by ordinary companies. Several projector makers plan to cultivate a presence in home theater markets and in presentation fields in an effort to expand their market base. The trend comes after achieving additional drops in size and weight and improved product brightness without sacrificing power consumption. Japan is expected to account for 90,000 or 100,000 data projectors, instead of the 80,000 units predicted earlier, in FY2000.
