Matsushita Electric Industrial Co Ltd introduces its SV-SD75 audio player that utilizes Secure Digital memory cards. In addition to Advanced Automatic Coding, the product uses the MP3 compression system. The unit can operate for around 5 hrs with AAA nickel metal-hydride rechargeable battery. On an alkaline dry battery, the unit can operate for around 6 hrs. The SV-SD75, which sells for $453, includes a display that shows how much battery power remains.

Article Abstract:
Sharp Corp introduces the $157 CE-AP1 MP3 player kit, comprised of an MPEG Audio Layer 3 (MP3) player, stereo headphones and CD-ROM software. The debuting MP3 player kit allows users to download music from the Internet or music from CDs onto CompactFlash cards and play the music on other Zaurus terminals. Its MP3 player is compact and can serve as remote controller for basic operations, such as replay,stop and music adjustments.
