Interest revives in Japan's device-making equipment
Article Abstract:
The Japanese semiconductor manufacturing equipment market is exhibiting signs of recovery in 1999. Monthly sales are increasing in contrast to FY1998, when orders fell 37.6% from 1997 sales levels. The sales increase has compelled Japanese manufacturers to increase production and some are operating at full capacity to meet orders. The increase in orders is attributed to the recovery of the semiconductor market in Japan and other countries.
