VHS Hi-Fi Software Outlook: Trouble in Video Paradise?

Except for CBS-Fox Video, major suppliers of prerecorded video will not be introducing VHS Hi-Fi software in 1984. They cite the unknown cost of production and unknown quality of playback sound as being the reasons. The rival of Beta Hi-Fi was much less problematic. Costs of reproducing equipment are higher for VHS Hi-Fi. Besides costs, there were some technical problems with the equipment.

Music Video Beat Picks Up at RCA Video Productions
Article Abstract:
RCA Video Productions is one of the leaders in the music video production field. Tom Kuhn, president of the company, says that the level of releases is going to pick up. The company plans to produce up to fifteen long-form music videos in 1984 and another twenty in 1985.
