Article Abstract:
Independent power producers' usage of special-purpose entities (SPE) might be affected if the Financial Accounting Standards Board assumes its proposal for debt consolidation on SPEs. The proposal targets general partners who effectively control SPEs even if they own less than 50% of the shares.
