ASQ says excess capacity affects space industry quality

Article Abstract:

ASQ asserts that the excess capacity affects the space industry's quality and safety while responding to the report of the Columbia Accident Investigation board that identified NASA's culture as the main contributor to the Columbia space shuttle disaster. Current production capacity has exceeded and is causing many organizations to cut costs, in the form of reduced quality checks and controls, to remain in business.

The Chicago Transit System that serves approximately 1.5 million riders everyday is a vital component of Northeastern Illinois' economy, which is operated by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA). It is the nation's second largest rapid transit system and an ISO 9000 complaint quality management system, which was designated for CTAEs capital improvement program.
