EPA proposes NESHAP for boilers and process heaters

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has launched two websites, one is www.regulations.gov and the other is to promote chemical site security and consolidate access to info in one location. The EPA has proposed National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) for industrial, commercial and institutional boilers and process heaters, in order to reduce emissions of a number of toxic air pollutants, which cause environmental damage.

EPA to streamline air-pollution test methods
Article Abstract:
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has come up with a proposal to amend the methods for instruments that measure air pollutant emissions, in order to make them consistent with the new Environmental Monitoring Management Council (EMMC) format. The test methods require more up to date equipment than others and some have more stringent performance requirements than others.

Toxic releases continue on a downward trend
Article Abstract:
The Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) report 2002 released by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) shows a decline in the amount of toxic chemicals released into the environment. The toxic chemical releases were about 15% lower than the figures for 2001.
