Article Abstract:
Southern China is emerging as one of the main competitors in the electronic industry due to Hong Kong and Taiwanese investments. Hong Kong started investing in the Guangdong province in the early 80s to keep up in the competitive electronics industry. Wages are low in China and there is much space for expansion. The most important manufacturing centre in China is the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone on the border of Hong Kong.
