A trainer's wish list
Article Abstract:
Training professionals are wishing that managers would ensure the participation of their subordinates in training sessions and make the effort to understand the lessons to be learned from the training. Trainers also wish that managers would support employees in completing the needed training assignments and emphasize the importance of the training to the entire organization. Another thing that trainers want managers to do is to get involved in the training process.

You get what you reward
Article Abstract:
Managers are in the position to elicit the desired behaviors from their subordinates by what they reinforce in terms of job performance. However, many managers are unsure as to how to reinforce desired behaviors or motivate employees. They could focus their efforts on acknowledging the behavior they desire to promote through a recognition program. After all, 200 years of behavioral science research supports the principle that managers get what they reward.
