Sand filter boasts high removal efficiencies and minimum maintenance
Article Abstract:
Lighthouse Separation Systems has introduced an innovative sand filter called VOLCANO Continuous Sand Filter. The sand filter, which has no moving components, can continuously operate because it need not be taken out of service for backwashing. The filter constantly backwashes a part of the sand bed to continually reproduce the sand bed without shutting down. In addition, the filter is touted to have higher removal efficiencies and superior engineering.

New catalytic filter destroys dioxins, furans
Article Abstract:
A retrofittable reactive filter designed to destroy dioxins and furans in stationary industrial plants and incinerators was launched by Elkton, MD- based WL Gore and Associates. Named Remedia D/F, the catalytic filter has a membrane made of Gore-Tex expanded popytetrafluoro ethylene (e-PTFE) film and bonded to a catalytically active e-PTFE felt. Remedia D/F has the capacity to capture particles less than one micron in diameter.

Rupture disks boasts fail-safe design
Article Abstract:
BS and B Safety Systems has introduced its Sure-Saf System, comprised of the CSI reverse buckling rupture disk and the CSR-7RS safety head. The system employs a structural apex forming technology to provide accuracy and reliability of burst pressure. It has a burst pressure range from 30 psig to 500 psig and is designed for use in gas, liquid, or two-phase flow service.
