Sources of growth of output and convergence of productivity in major OECD countries
Article Abstract:
Technical change has greatly contributed to output and labor productivity growth achieved by member countries of Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), specifically Japan, Germany, France and Italy. Based on an analysis of the economic performance of six member countries of OECD, physical capital and research and development investment also became sources of output and labor productivity growth from 1965 to 1973. Achievement of such growth has led to significant decreased in gross domestic product per capita gap between US and Japan, Germany, France and Italy.
