TQM: leadership for the quality transformation
Article Abstract:
Total quality management (TQM) is a process that begins with a vision for a project that is actively promoted by an organizational leader. A vision provides a realistic target and connects an organization to future goals by effective use of all assets. The formulation of a vision can be the product of a team effort but must be shared by a leader with employees, customers and suppliers. Lee Iacocca is an excellent example of a leader who successfully shared a vision of a new Chrysler Corp that was transformed into a reality.

TQM: leadership for the quality transformation
Article Abstract:
Delegation is an essential aspect of leadership which can lead to long-term benefits. Some executives, however, are reluctant to use delegation or if ever they do, their technique is faulty. Delegation, as opposed to dumping and assigning, means letting other members of the organization participate in special projects with the objective of empowering them with minimum supervision. The concept necessitates the presence of three guiding elements namely responsibility, authority and accountability.
