Torque control improves production
Article Abstract:
Laser equipment manufacturer LeveLite Technology Inc has utilized a torque-related equipment developed by Mountz Inc of San Jose, CA, to respond to its torque-control problems. Mountz supplied LeveLite with electric screw drivers and screw feeders dubbed as SureFeed, which are easy to assemble. The equipment have helped improve LeveLite's production by increasing production by 15%, improving the facility's working environment, reducing operator errors and reducing scrap by 5%.

Are lasers measuring up?
Article Abstract:
The increasing need for precision in today's industries have largely made conventional metrological methods obsolete. In view of this problem, engineers are beginning to take a new interest in the laser as a direct metrology instrument. Lasers, which have long been used for calibration, are extremely precise and they can be used to make measurements which are beyond the capabilities of mechanical instruments.

Interferometer gives CNC machines laser precision
Article Abstract:
Saginaw Machine Systems Inc (SMS) utilizes a Renishaw laser calibration system to monitor manufacturing processes. The laser calibration system is used to measure axis repeatability and positioning accuracy of SMS's precision deep-hole drilling equipment. SMS officials noted that the system is very useful because it provides high-speed data collection capabilities to the company's quality control department.
