Agricultural development and nutrient flows in the Baltic States and Sweden after 1988
Article Abstract:
Nutrient flows related to agricultural development in the Baltic States and Sweden after 1988 and the change from collective farms to a market economy with family farms are discussed. Changes in nitrogen and phosphorus flows in agriculture and into the Baltic Sea after independence from Russia came to the Baltic States are compared to changes in Sweden in the same time period.

Quantification of anthropogenic threats to lakes in a lowland country of central Sweden
Article Abstract:
Research on 143 lakes in Uppsala County, Sweden, shows significant damage from a variety of human environmental interventions. The strongest effects come from land drainage and toxic substance pollution, followed by introduction of nonnative species, with most lakes experiencing several kinds of disturbances.
