Environmental protection for geothermic exploratory drilling in Mexico: review of a case study
Article Abstract:
The potential environmental impacts caused by geothermic exploratory drilling at Las Tres Virgenes Geothermic field in Mexico are local and restricted in extent and time, reflecting compliance with most official recommendations. The impacts are of two types, physical and chemical. Building of roads and construction of dams and platforms produce physical impacts while condensation of discharged gases produce chemical impacts. Physical impacts destroy vegetation and increase soil erosion. The Mexican government has taken measures to prevent environmental degradation.

The past, present and future of waste management in Wales: a case study of the environmental problems in a small European region
Article Abstract:
A study of environmental waste and its effect on Wales suggests numerous strategies for remediating past destruction and creating sound policy for the future. A model linking the waste with its effects on environmental, economic and human and animal health reveals that Wales' industrial legacy has left it near a crisis state. Suggestion for improvement include emissions control, environmental monitoring, further studies on pollution dispersal, and remedial measures for existing waste sites.
