The U.K. Environmental Change Network database: an integrated information resource for long-term monitoring and research
Article Abstract:
The development of an integrated information resource to monitor environmental research and policy requirements in United Kingdom was reported. The U.K. Environmental Change Programme views the data management process as an integrated system to achieve a spontaneous flow of data from capture to access within the short time-scales required, incorporating the necessary quality assurance specifications.

Chemometrical exploration of the wet precipitation chemistry from the Austrian monitoring network (1988-1999)
Article Abstract:
The applications of different chemometric methods to an environmental data set derived from the monitoring of wet precipitation in Austria during the years 1988-1999 are studied. The study aims to introduce some new approaches into environments and to compare their usefulness with already existing techniques for the classification and interpretation of environmental data.
