State-dependent parental care in the Antarctic petrel: Responses to manipulated chick age during early chick rearing
Article Abstract:
The basic needs of chicks for food, protection and influence parental decisions in the Antarctic petrel are tested. It is found that Antarctic petrels adjust reproductive decisions to their own, their mate's and their chick's state and they seem to respond to the chick's needs for both food and protection.

Costs of parasites in common eiders: effects of antiparasite treatment
Article Abstract:
Parasites exploit their host for the resources required for the parasites' reproduction and survival. Antiparasitic treatment administered to female common eiders shows no effect on nest success, incubation time, and mass-loss during incubation or return rate among successful birds.

Seasonal and ontogenetic dynamics in trophic transmission for parasites
Article Abstract:
The quantification of the transmission rates of parasites from the intermediate (amphipods) to the final hosts (fish) is described. A paradoxical contrast exists between low infection levels in the intermediate and high infection levels in the final hosts.
