Chateau Palmer: ahead of its class

The Chateau Palmer was established in the 18th century and has had a series of owners included the Englishman Charles Palmer who sold it in 1843. The present ownership, a consortium, began in 1938. It is noted for its fine wines, especially Bordeaux. It produces about 15,000 cases a year.

Loire Red and White wines reviewed include those produced in St-Nicolas de Baurgueil, Sancerre, Poully-Fume and Touraine. Prices range from $6 to $50. The wines were produced between 1990 and 1994. The number of cases made is provided for each wine.
