Research - China
Article Abstract:
The contemporary Chinese terms for research are yanjiu, or research in the general sense, and keyan, which is research in areas of science and engineering, but the formation of both terms is relatively recent and owes much to the influence of Western ideas of research. The notions of research in China have undergone significant changes since the late 19th century, but they continue to exert an important force in the Chinese reformulation of research under the new global influences.
