Cloth spirit: remembering loved ones through their wardrobes
Article Abstract:
The article is written in memoriam of a friend who died of AIDS and whose family gave away his clothes to his friends. The clothes will not bring him back, nor will they remind the wearer his loss; it will remind them rather of what they have saved, even if only for a time: themselves. Thus will the clothes not be shrouds, but mantles of victory sans sanctimony.
