Model-based approaches to signal analysis
Article Abstract:
Signal analysis has been much influenced by modern mathematics and has become a model-based discipline. The signal is seen as stemming from a system, either linear or non-linear, and deterministic or stochastic. Applications for signal modelling in areas such as vibration analysis and clutter suppression are discussed.

Hawks on Fifth
Article Abstract:
Two red-tailed hawks set up a nest on a building at Fifth Avenue and 74th Street in New York, NY. They attracted much attention from residents and wildlife experts during their four-month stay in spring 1993. The building is near Central Park and the residences of several celebrities.
