Zimmerman was a popular and athletic 13 year-old when he was stricken with a brain tumor. Surgery saved his life, but left him bed-ridden and in despair over his diminished quality of life. An experience in charity prompted him to find new outlets for his energy and creativity, primarily by helping others who are suffering.

Hazing: separating rites from the wrongs
Article Abstract:
The connotation of the term "hazing" has considerably changed over the years, as the concept is being adopted in non-military organizations. Used formerly to denote military promotions, hazing has recently been associated with tragic events that have claimed the lives of innocent individuals.
