The shooting of a pig owned by the British Hudson Bay Company, which had staked a territorial claim on San Juan Island, by Lyman Cutler, an American farmer, led the two powerful nations into war. In 1872, the German committee appointed by the new Kaiser Wilhelm brought an end to the long-standing dispute between the two countries regarding the ownership of San Juan Island, by awarding it to the Americans.

Re-importing drugs to America

The positive and negative side of re-importing drugs to America is discussed. According to U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow this should take place, as it would reduce the price of the drugs prescribed and easily available to the commoners while according to Sally C. Pipes, CEO, Pacific Research Institute it may lead to unhealthy measures of marketing by cheating.
