World's fastest bikes

The fastest bicycles are specially designed to reduce wind drag and have reached speeds as high as 65 mph. Each year the International Human Powered Vehicle Association hosts a competition for the fastest design, but most of them are impractical for everyday riding.

King of the hill

Mountain biker Mike King won the World Downhill Championship just five months after his first mountain bike race. King, a former bicycle motocross champion, also won two events in the 1994 National Off-Road Bicycle Assn. national series.
