Internet gambling hits the jackpot
Article Abstract:
Internet gambling is attracting large numbers of people in the US. There are now an estimated 600 Internet gambling sites offering many different forms of betting. This trend has attracted little political attention, especially in California. Legislators in four states have implemented Internet gambling prohibition acts, but most legislators in California feel that they should merely monitor this trend, waiting for action at the federal level. Many observers feel that Internet gambling should be addressed through credit-card companies, which currently allow online gamblers to accumulate electronic cash and credit for placing their bets.
