Article Abstract:
There has been extensive media coverage of the resignation of California Governor Pete Wilson's Chief of Staff Bob White. This media coverage is partly based on speculation about the repercussions of White's decision for a possible attempt by Wilson to win the presidency in 2000. It is also fuelled by the fact that the relationship between White and Wilson was among the most long-lasting in California politics.
