The Twilight Zone II
Article Abstract:
Readers following changes in the healthcare field responded with an outpouring of letters a fictitious story about an executive who creates a healthcare system that focuses on profits instead of services. When the executive goes to use his own health plan, he ends up dying because of all the problems in gaining access to medical help. Readers who responded felt the executive deserved more suffering than the editorial described.

New tunes: the top 10
Article Abstract:
Ten healthcare-management trends are discussed. Values are taking a more important place in executives' everyday lives. Power-mongers, control freaks and game-players are no longer acceptable as leaders. Executives desire to belong to competent, creative teams composed of people who treat each other with respect. Drop the decorum
Article Abstract:
Decorum demands that individuals behave in accepted, traditional ways, and it is boring. But unlike the demands of conscience, decorum's demands do not have to be obeyed. A little misbehavior at a formal dinner, for example, can make the affair much more enjoyable. Decorum thrives in healthcare industry boardrooms, where it tends to sidetrack new trends.
