The effects of treatment team diversity and size on assessment of team functioning
Article Abstract:
A new concept that assumes that team-based health care is the best way for groups from various background and disciplines can work together is being tested in the health care industry. The team-based health care concept also assumes that in an inter-dependent relationship, professionals can function and undertake their duties effectively. based on demographic composition and size, it is believed that individuals who work on more heterogeneous and larger teams have much lower views of team functionings.

Contemporary models of change in the health professions

Changes in the health care industry threatens to undermine the foundation health care professional have laid over the years. While some changes may actually be beneficial, applying modern management principles to health care administration could pose serious risks to the action orientation approach that has marked the work of most health care professionals. Some of the contemporary methods of change that is being applied to health care management include such concepts as total quality management.

Changes in job design and work force composition
Article Abstract:
Health care administrators who contributed to the investigation of the changes occurring in particular areas in the health care industry include Gary Filerman, Jeffrey Alexander, Thomas D'Aunno, Sharon Schweikhart and Vicki Smith-Daniels. These changes have principally been in work force composition and job design, all the results of competitive pressures brought about by demands for lower cost and increased or sustained quality services.
