Article Abstract:
A comparison is made between the kind of nursing practices, which existed a century ago in 1905 with what exists today in twenty-first century. The two periods are however incomparable as the benefits of discipline, kinship and security lacking today are more than made up by other advantages such as higher education, autonomy and social facilities that have boosted the morale of nurses, although patient care still remains paramount.
