A review and critique of common herbal alternative therapies
Article Abstract:
Current use, safety considerations, and possible effectiveness of selected herbs used for medical purposes have been presented. It may be advisable for patients to exercise caution when using herbs since many scientific effectiveness studies on herbs have been inconclusive and the herbal industry is currently unregulated. Health care providers can use a set of guidelines when advising and educating their patients on the safe use of herbal or alternative therapies.
