A special message on late-term abortion from the AMA board chair
Article Abstract:
The American Medical Association (AMA) Board of Trustees advocates the rewording of proposed legislation banning late-term abortions. The AMA considers the legislation in question, HR 1122, to be unacceptable in its original form because it restricts patient and physician choices in a way that would criminalize physicians and jeopardizes the health and safety of patient. The AMA lobbied for an amendment rewording bill to better define late-term abortion and to improve protections for physicians and patients.

30 years after oRoe v. Wadeo, doctors reflect on its impact
Article Abstract:
The landmark decision legalizing abortion is considered by some as an important advance for medicine and society and as an unmitigated disaster by others. Some physicians feel it saves women from the emotional trauma of unwanted pregnancy and the physical dangers associated with illegal abortion while anti-abortion physicians state that women who have abortion are depressed and have gynecological problems with an increase in the rate of infertility.
