Assessing HIV risk: let the science decide
Article Abstract:
HIV-positive patients must be confident that they will not be discriminated against when their status is disclosed to the health professionals who are treating them. A friend-of-the-court brief on the behalf of a HIV patient for discrimination has been filed by the American Medical Assn. Assessment of risk by health professionals needs to based on good science and not the fears of caregivers.

Former faculty sue Tulane medical school in billing dispute
Article Abstract:
The Tulane University School of Medicine is being sued by former faculty member Samuel W. Parry, MD, alleging the university owes backpay for doctors who worked under a faculty practice plan. Tulane officials claim the work was a service and teaching obligation and therefore not salaried. Dr. Parry insists the contract stipulated all services would be factored into salary.
