Abdominoperineal resection for rectal cancer
Article Abstract:
Rectal cancer patients may need to undergo an abdominoperineal resection if the cancer affects the distal rectum. The procedure involves removal of the anus and rectum via perineal and abdominal methods. A stoma is fitted to allow the patient to lead a normal and independent life. Nurses must help patients come to terms with surgery and the implications of a permanent stoma which will affect them for the rest of their lifes.

Which way is up for a suppository?
Article Abstract:
