Advice on healthy eating for older people
Article Abstract:
Health professionals can help older people maintain their health for longer by encouraging them to modify risk factors for disease and disability by improving their diet. The Health Education Authority (1994) has published guidelines for healthy eating, which is meant for fit, older people who are not frail or underweight and who do not have any debilitating chronic disease or major problems with mobility.

Infection control in nursing and residential homes
Article Abstract:
Many high-dependency elderly people are being placed in residential care and nursing homes, and risk of infection is rising. Infection control procedures are vital in this type of environment. A training guide for care staff from EA Publications and the Infection Control Nurses' Association is described.
