Shekhar Saxena, MD, coordinator of mental health evidence and research at the World Health Organization and other psychiatrists reported field experiences in tsunami-affected countries and discussed best practices for responding to future large-scale disasters. He believes that meaningful help for areas deformed by catastrophes might include financial support for lengthy visits by specialists, and contributions of needed equipment and supplies or funds for their purchase.

Disorders of iron metabolism
Article Abstract:
Disorders of iron metabolism are common diseases. More than two-thirds of the iron in the body occurs in hemoglobin. For that reason, too little iron in the body causes anemia. The rest occurs in tissues that function as iron storage depots. Humans have no direct way to excrete excess iron, so excess iron can be damaging. It builds up in the tissues, especially the liver, heart, and some endocrine tissues. This condition is called hemochromatosis.
