Avoiding long-term sickness
Article Abstract:
The increasing number of extended sick leave among nurses is raising concerns in the health community since several surveys conducted on the issue have found that longer absences comprise more than a third of total sickness days lost and upto 75% of absence costs. In order to reduce this absenteeism it is suggested that nurses need to look after themselves more, seek help early and ensure proper health and safety measures even in times of pressure.
