Article Abstract:
The government's decision to split the 2.5% rise in nurses' salary into two stages of 1.5% and 1% in April and November respectively in 2007 gives the nurses a hike of just 1.9% over the year. In addition, the hype in house prices, utility bills, and council tax endangers the profession of nursing itself.
