MicroRNAs linked to pancreatic cancer
Article Abstract:
Researchers have found an association between pancreatic cancer and an increased expression of regulatory molecules called microRNAs, which are short segments of RNAs that selectively silence gene expression. Studies are on to identify the most important microRNAs involved in pancreatic cancer, with tests based on microRNA expression levels likely to help in the diagnosis of the disease and drugs designed to inhibit them offering an effective treatment strategy.
