Nurses at Leeds Youth Offending Service won the innovation category award for a programme designed to help teenagers manage their anger. A senior nurse specialist developed D'Fuse that includes short and long-term anger management programmes in-group or individual settings for adolescents from 10 to 17 years of age who are in trouble with the police as a result of their aggression.

Supply and demand?
Article Abstract:
Staff shortages in nursing sector has put up additional pressure and more workload on the nurses tending them to leave the service as they cannot give the best care and services they tend to leave creating more shortage. The difficulties faced by the NHS in creating a nursing workforce to meet the demand are discussed and steps to be taken for workforce planning is presented.

Pioneers for young people

South Tees Hospitals NHS trust young nursing team has won a national Foundation of Nursing studies award for the unit's development. This award is tinged with sadness because Laura Appleby who was instrumental in the unit's development is no more to celebrate their success.
