Bush budget focuses on variety of health reforms

President George W. Bush has proposed a measure that would eliminate cuts scheduled for 2004 and 2005 as part of the fiscal year 2004 budget proposal. The budget includes several administration priorities, including health insurance tax credits and more money for community health, global AIDS/HIV initiatives, drug and alcohol treatment programs, and Bioterrorism preparedness efforts.

Budget outline earmarks fund for Medicare reform
Article Abstract:
The Congress has passed a fiscal year 2004 budget resolution that includes more than $500 billion for health programs and research. It is also setting aside $400 billion to be spent over the next 10 years to reform Medicare and add a prescription drug benefit.
